Innovation Empowerment: Five Startups Selected for Career Connect Expo Roadshow at MAAUN

BigTech Agency Limited, in collaboration with MAAUN Innovation Hub, organized qualifying rounds for multiple startups in which five promising ones were selected to pitch at the upcoming Career Connect Expo Roadshow, slated for October 3rd, 2024.

The event, which featured a total of eight startups showcasing their ideas to a panel of five judges for a chance to advance to the main event, was held at the School of Computing, Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria.

The five startups that qualified to the final rounds include; iLearn– Idris Musbahu Idris, SwiftMedix– Abdur-Razaq Odeleye, AgroZenith– Kamal Aliyu, Slay Belless– Maryam Mustapha, and Kwari 1.0 – Kassim Muhammad Atiku.

Other entrepreneurial ventures showcased at the pitch competition were Liyafa Farms Ltd, Kaptex & More, and FoodLife SAVER

The judges, who are industry experts and IT professionals, evaluated all submissions from the qualifying rounds based on specific criteria, including innovation, feasibility, market potential, and presentation skills.

The panel of Judges was made up of Musa Usman from Bridge Connect, Salma Bature and Yomi Sani from Startup Kano, Engr. Muftawu Sanusi from MAAUN, Ubaid Sulaiman, and Hayatudeen Muhammad Abdallah from MAAUN.

In their separate remarks, the judges praised all the start-up founders for their excellent presentation skills and innovative ideas, while emphasizing the need for improved clarity of purpose and feasibility of their concepts.

Earlier in his remarks, the founder and CEO of BigTech Agency, Mr. Ahmad Ali Koki, said the roadshow aimed at not only selecting the best startups but also to inspire attendees, particularly students, to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.

Koki, who stressed the need for student-led initiatives in Nigeria’s complex entrepreneurial landscape, described it as a major driver of economic development.
