MAAUN Faculty leads online training session organized by Kardan Varsity, Afghanistan

After forming a partnership between Kardan University, Afghanistan and Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, the two institutions launched an online training session as part of an effort to promote cultural exchange and faculty development.

The thirty-day online training designed by Kardan University, featured a lecture delivered by MAAUN faculty, Dr. Musa Abdullahi Sufi, on Interpersonal Communication Skills and Educational Development in Higher Institutions.

Dr. Sufi, a seasoned academics from the School of Social and Management Sciences, explored the pivotal role of communication in fostering educational development and academic excellence in higher institutions globally.

He discussed how clear and consistent communication strengthens relationships among faculty, students, and stakeholders, leading to improved educational outcomes.

Dr. Sufi, who spoke at length on the role of interpersonal communication in fostering academic collaborations, also highlighted some common challenges that often hinder effective communication within higher education while at the same time providing practical solutions.

According to him, effective communication is the key to development which he described as the foundation of academic excellence and institutional development.

 

Dr. Sufi echoed the need for continuous efforts to improve communication strategies across higher education, emphasizing their impact on promoting excellence and institutional growth.

Similarly, Dr. Mohd Asif Shah, Dean of Economics at the Kardan University, presented a paper on Environmental Conservation and Business Sustainability.

Dr. Asif, who extensively discussed the importance of environmental conservation, noted that business are meant to make a difference to the world in which we live by improving people’s lives and by improving social and physical habitat.

At the completion of the session, the two papers attracted various comments from the participants and earned praises for their in-depth exploration of the subjects discussed.

Attendees during session included the President of MAAUN, Prof (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, Head of International Office, Engr Bashir Garba and officials of the Kardan University.

In her closing remarks, Hajiya Maimuna S. Bello, Head, Human Resource Unit of MAAUN, expressed her appreciation to the speakers and all the participants, both offline and online, for taking their time to attend the workshop.
