President MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo has donated a 60-seater luxurious bus to the Federal Polytechnic Kabo in Kano State.
Prof. Gwarzo announced the donation on Wednesday when he paid a solidarity visit to the Rector of the institution, Prof. Magaji Sanusi who was the former acting President of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Kano.
It’s worth noting that this is the third occasion on which Prof. Gwarzo has donated a 60-seater luxury bus to institutions of higher learning, following his previous donations to the Federal University Dutsin-ma in Katsina State and Al-Istiqama University in Sumaila, Kano State.
He expressed hope that the vehicle would facilitate movement of staff and students of the newly established institution.
Prof. Gwarzo who congratulated Prof. Magaji for his appointment as pioneer Rector of the Polytechnic, also used the occasion to congratulate staff and students for having Prof. Magaji as the Rector of the institution.
“It’s a memorable day for us because one of us is appointed Rector of this institution. I congratulate the staff because he’s a resourceful person that will build this institution,” he said.
Prof. Gwarzo described Prof. Magaji as a “dogged fighter” for good, a hardworking and committed individual, and above all, an incorruptible personality who does not accept failure.
He, therefore, charged the management staff of the institution to give Prof. Magaji the needed support and cooperation to enable him to bring the much needed development to the new Polytechnic so as to compete with other sister institutions across the country.
Earlier in his remarks, Prof. Magaji thanked Prof. Gwarzo and his entourage for the visit and lauded Prof. Gwarzo for donating the bus which will go a long way in enabling quality teaching and learning in the institution.
During the solidarity visit, Prof. Gwarzo and his entourage were taken on a tour of the Polytechnic’s permanent site, where he inspected the ongoing construction work.
Among the management staff of MAAUN who accompanied Prof. Gwarzo were the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr; the Vice Chancellor of Franco-British International University (FBIU), Kaduna, Prof. Muhammad Abdullahi Sabo; and the Vice Chancellor of Northwest University, Sokoto, Prof. Ahmad Ibrahim Maigari.
Others were Vice President Administration of MAAUN, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, Vice President Administration MAAUN Niger-Maradi, Dr. Shu’aibu Tanko and Director, Institute of Africa Higher Education Research and Innovation (IAHERI), Prof. Abubakar Sadiq Haruna,
