MAAUN Library Organizes User Education Program for Fresh Students

Murtala Ramat Muhammad Library of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) on Tuesday organized a one-day User Education Programme for freshmen 2024/2025 academic session.

The program was designed to equip the students with the skills needed to effectively use library resources for their academic success.

Held at the Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Twin Theatre, the program introduced students to the university’s library facilities, policies, and services while emphasizing the critical role of the library in academic development.

The programme featured three presenters, namely; Izdihar Abdulwakeel Saleh, Khalid Muhammad Salihu, and Abubakar Ashiru Abubakar.

In his remarks, the Acting Chief Librarian, Malam Zubairu Bello, highlighted the importance of the event, noting that it was organized to introduce the newly admitted students to the library’s facilities and the roles of its staff in supporting their academic needs.

The program was divided into two sessions, with the morning session catering to students from the School of Computing, School of Social and Management Sciences and the School of law.

The afternoon session was dedicated to students from the School of Health Sciences, School of Nursing Sciences, School of Medicine, and School of Environmental Science.

After each presentation, a highly interactive question-and-answer session followed, enabling students to seek clarifications on various aspects of library usage.

The event was attended by the Vice President Campus Life, Dr Hamza Garba, who commended the library for organizing the programme.
