As part of effort to promote academic research and professional development, Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MECIN Consult Ltd.
The agreement, which was signed on Tuesday, was designed to enhance knowledge exchange, drive innovation, and promote skill development.
Moreover, the partnership includes key areas such as joint research initiatives, seminars, workshops, and capacity building programs aimed to equip students with essential skills for their future career.
It also emphasizes community engagement, resource sharing, and mentorship to inspire participation in advanced research and professional activities.
The President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, signed the MoU on behalf of the university, while Dr Khadija Sanusi Gumbi, the Managing Director of MECIN Consult Ltd, a private company dedicated to mentorship, coaching, and inspiring people, signed on behalf of her organization.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Managing Director of MECIN Consult Ltd, Dr. Gumbi, explained the significance of the partnership, highlighting its potential to drive innovation and knowledge transfer between academia and industry.
She emphasized that the MoU, when implemented, would create a platform for students and researchers to access mentorship programs and hands-on training.
The President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Muhammad Israr, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to academic excellence, emphasizing that the partnership aligns with MAAUN’s vision and mission.
In his remarks, the Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, expressed appreciation for the collaboration, describing it as a significant milestone for MAAUN.
He highlighted the university’s dedication to creating an enabling environment where both students and staff can benefit from such engagements, particularly in fostering innovation and uncovering students’ talents.
In her closing remarks, the Head of Human Resources, Hajia Maimuna S. Bello, expressed her gratitude to MECIN Consult Ltd. for recognizing MAAUN as a strategic partner in this initiative.
She highlighted that the collaboration would further enhance MAAUN’s commitment to delivering quality education and advancing research opportunities.
