The Founder and President of MAAUN Group of Universities, on Tuesday, 14th October 2025, received the management staff of the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology, Kano, on a courtesy visit to the university.
The visit was aimed at fostering inter-institutional collaboration and academic excellence.
In his remarks, the Acting Provost of the College, Dr. Salisu Salisu, who led the delegation, expressed gratitude to Prof. Gwarzo for his unwavering support and commitment in standing with the college during its most challenging period.
He applauded Prof. Gwarzo’s remarkable contributions to the educational sector not only in Kano and Nigeria but in the entire African continent.
“Your unwavering support and commitment in standing with us during the most challenging period of our college will never be forgotten. Despite your tight schedules, you found time to intervene and extend your guidance when it mattered most,” Dr. Salisu stated.
Dr. Salisu further called for a strong partnership between the college and MAAUN Nigeria, noting that collaboration between the two institutions will open new doors for academic advancement, research cooperation, staff development, and student exchange.
He said the college is still young and faces several challenges, especially in the areas of mobility, infrastructure, and institutional partnership, which are essentially for academic growth and excellence.
In his remarks, Prof. Gwarzo pledged to support the college in areas where it needs support most to enable it compete with its peers across the country.
“The future of every country in Africa is agriculture. So, you have to open your doors for international collaboration to expose the college to the outside world,” he said.
He assured the Acting Provost of his commitment to formalizing a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MAAUN, especially in the areas of staff training.
Prof. Gwarzo also promised to personally visit the College with a view to strengthening the relationship and exploring areas of mutual benefit.
Among the management staff of MAAUN that witnessed the courtesy visit were the Acting President of the University, Prof. Ahmad Ibrahim Maigari and some faculty members, among others.
