Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fortress Global AI Resources to strengthen collaboration in artificial intelligence development and educational research.
The agreement was signed on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the university as part of efforts to promote innovation and digital transformation in higher education.
The MoU was signed by the Chief Executive Director of Fortress Global AI Resources, Dr. Muhammad Bashir, and the President of MAAUN, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Israr.
Areas of collaboration under the partnership include AI development projects, the application of artificial intelligence in educational research and development, capacity building, as well as infrastructure and resource support.
Speaking during the event, the Vice President of MAAUN, Dr. Habib Awais, described the partnership as timely and important for the advancement of technology-driven education.
Dr. Awais also expressed optimism about the success of the agreement, noting that the collaboration would create opportunities for innovation, research, and skills development for both students and staff.
The partnership is expected to enhance academic research, promote practical AI solutions, and further strengthen MAAUN’s commitment to embracing emerging technologies in teaching, learning, and development.
Other members of MAAUN present include the Head, International Office, Engr Bashir Garba; His Assistant, Mrs Janvi Haresh; Hayatuddeen M. Abdallah and Baseera Oyewo, President’s Secretary.
