Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), has expressed deep shock over the passing of one of its female students, Nabila Awwal.
The deceased who was a 300 level student in the Department of Mass Communication, School of Social Sciences, died on Friday following a brief illness.
In a condolence message on Saturday, the President of the university, Prof.(Dr.) Mohammad Israr described the death of Nabila as shocking and devastating.
“Innalillahi Wainna Ilaihirrajiun, It is with deep shock and sadness that we announce the passing of our student, Nabila Awwal, from the Department of Mass Communication, School of Social Sciences.
“May Allah forgive her shortcomings, shower His mercy upon her, and grant her eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen Summa Ameen,” Prof. Israr said.
Prof. Israr described the death of Nabila as a huge loss not only to her parents and relatives, but to the entire staff and students of the University.
“On behalf of the Management of MAAUN, I wish to extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the entire family and friends of the deceased over the great loss,” Prof. Israr said.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Jannatul Firdaus and her entire family members the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The deceased had since been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites in her hometown, Zaria, Kaduna State.
