Everyone needs a little help with their studies from time to time, whether you’re a freshman taking your first step into university life or a seasoned student who knows their way around the University, here are some guidelines for health and well-being on campus at MAAUN:

  1. Practice good hygiene: Wash your hands frequently, cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and avoid touching your face to prevent the spread of germs.

  2. Stay active: Regular physical activity is important for maintaining good health. Take advantage of the gymnasium and outdoor recreational facilities on campus.

  3. Get enough sleep: A good night’s sleep is essential for maintaining physical and mental health. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night.

  4. Eat a balanced diet: A healthy diet is important for maintaining good health. Choose a variety of nutrient-rich foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.

  5. Manage stress: Stress can have a negative impact on both physical and mental health. Find ways to manage stress, such as exercise, meditation, or talking to a trusted friend or family member.

  6. Seek medical care when needed: If you experience any health concerns, seek medical attention promptly. MAAUN has a dedicated clinic with trained medical professionals who are available to provide care.

By following these guidelines, you can promote your own health and well-being while on campus at MAAUN. Remember that taking care of yourself is an important part of achieving academic success and personal growth.

Here are some pieces of advice for dealing with stress:

Identify the source of stress: Understanding the source of stress is the first step in managing it. Identify what triggers your stress and find ways to avoid or reduce it.

Take breaks: Taking breaks throughout the day can help reduce stress. Take a few minutes to stretch, meditate, or take a walk outside.

Exercise regularly: Exercise is a great way to reduce stress. It releases endorphins, which can help improve your mood and reduce stress.

Practice relaxation techniques: Deep breathing, meditation, and yoga are all great ways to relax and reduce stress.

Get enough sleep: Lack of sleep can make stress worse. Make sure to get enough sleep each night to help manage stress.

Talk to someone: Talking to someone you trust, like a friend, family member, or counselor, can help reduce stress. It can also help you gain perspective on the situation.

Prioritize self-care: Taking care of yourself is essential for managing stress. Make time for activities you enjoy, such as reading, listening to music, or spending time with loved ones.

Remember that stress is a normal part of life, but it’s important to manage it effectively to prevent it from becoming overwhelming on your academic success. By taking steps to manage stress, you can improve your overall health and well-being.
