The Founder and Chairman Governing Council of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, on Thursday, 20th July, 2023, led some management staff of the University to Katsina for a condolence visit to the Chairman of Max Air, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal who lost his wife, Hajiya Aisha Mangal.
Hajiya Aisha passed away on Saturday, 15th July, 2023, at a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.
Among the management staff members who accompanied Prof. Gwarzo during the visit included the President of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar and Vice President Administration, MAAUN-Maradi, Niger. Dr. Shu’aibu Usman Tanko.
Others were the Vice Chancellor of Franco-British International University, Kaduna, Prof. Abdullahi Muhammad Sabo, Director Linkages and Collaboration, Dr. Bala Muhammad Tukur, Dr. Lawal Kankia, Dean, Mass Communication Department, MAAUN- Maradi, Dr. Bala Zango and Head of International Office, Engr. Bashir Garba, among others.
While condoling the Katsina business mogul, Prof. Gwarzo, who is also the President of Association of African Private Universities (AAPU), described the death of Hajiya Aisha as a great loss not only to her immediate family but to the entire people of Katsina State.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we received the news of the sudden demise of your beloved wife, Hajiya Aisha.
“On behalf of my family and Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria and Niger, I wish to extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to you on her sudden and untimely death.
“I also want to use this opportunity to condole the entire family of the deceased over the huge loss. May the Almighty Allah give you and the entire family the strength to bear the irreparable loss,” Prof. Gwarzo said.
He further prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and admit her in Jannatul Firdaus.
During the condolence visit, a special prayer was offered for the deceased where some verses from the Holy Quran were recited.
Late Hajiya Aisha Mangal is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren and had since been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites in Katsina.
