The Founder and President MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has congratulated Dr. Olufemi Shoyemi on his election as the Governor with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, UK.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement personally signed by Prof. Gwarzo and issued to newsmen in Kano on Friday.
He said the victory of Dr. Shoyemi in the election was a clear indication of his acceptability by the entire staff of the Foundation to represent the rest of England constituency for a term of three years.
Prof. Gwarzo expressed hope that Dr. Shoyemi would use his expertise and the vast knowledge he acquired in Public Health Education to bring a lot of development to the NHS Trust Foundation.
He said, “As the Chair of both South Tees and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS
Foundation Trust Council of Governors, we hope you will bring your wealth of experience to bear in your new assignment,” Prof. Gwarzo said.
Dr. Shoyemi who hails from Lagos Mainland Local Government, Lagos State, had his Primary Education at St. Jude Primary School, Ebuta Metta, Lagos State before proceeding to Abeokuta Grammar School, Ogun State for his Secondary School education.
He had his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Ilorin; and, the PhD. at Bayero University, Kano. He also acquired a Master’s degree in adult nursing from Plymouth University, UK.
His area of specialization is Public Health Education. He taught for more than a decade in Nigeria, including the University of Ilorin, National Teachers Institute (NTI), as well as a facilitator at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
