This course introduces students on how to assist and empower people who have been injured, ill, or disabled, as well as how to maximize their functional ability. Maryam Abacha American University will provide you with the necessary knowledge, skills, and accreditation to launch an exciting and rewarding career as Doctor of Physiotherapy.

Graduates of our Physiotherapy program are well-prepared to pursue a range of fulfilling careers in the field of healthcare. Some potential roles for graduates include:
Clinical Physiotherapist: Assess, diagnose and treat patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, or cardiopulmonary conditions, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress.
Sports Physiotherapist: Work with athletes to prevent injuries, manage and treat sports-related injuries, and design and implement rehabilitation programs to help athletes return to their sport.
Pediatric Physiotherapist: Work with children with developmental delays, disabilities, and injuries, and provide treatment to improve their physical abilities, coordination, and motor skills.
Geriatric Physiotherapist: Work with older adults to prevent falls, manage and treat age-related conditions, such as arthritis and osteoporosis, and help them maintain their independence.
In addition to these specific roles, graduates can also pursue careers in various healthcare settings, such as:
Hospitals: Work in acute care, rehabilitation, or outpatient departments, and provide treatment to patients with a range of conditions, such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, and amputations.
Private Practice: Open their own physiotherapy clinic or work in a group practice, and provide treatment to patients with a range of conditions, such as chronic pain, sports injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation.
Community Health: Work in community health centers, schools, or nursing homes, and provide treatment to patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.
Research: Work in academic or research settings, and conduct research to advance the field of physiotherapy, improve patient outcomes, and develop new treatment approaches.
Furthermore, this program also prepares graduates for entrepreneurship and innovation, enabling them to start their own physiotherapy clinics or develop new technologies to improve patient care.
