Senior students of the Department of International Relations, Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), have paid a visit to the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) in Lagos as part of their Diplomatic Field Trip program.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to analyze complex international issues, engage in diplomatic negotiations, propose creative solutions to global challenges, and visit key diplomatic premises and locations.

The purpose of the field trip is to provide students with practical, hands-on learning experiences that complement classroom instruction, expose them to different cultures, languages, and ways of life, foster a greater appreciation for cultural diversity, and promote global awareness.

The Diplomatic Field Trip, led by the Acting Head of the Department of International Relations, Dr. Lawan Malami Goni, offers a unique opportunity for all students to engage in experiential learning and personal development.

At the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), the students had the opportunity to meet and interact with the Director General of the Institute, Prof. Eghosa Emmanuel Osaghae, as well as tour the NIIA facilities.
