Government of Rajasthan, India, MAAUN Nigeria, FUDMA Nigeria, and LPF India to Host State-Level Seminar on Public Libraries and Librarians

The Government of Rajasthan, through the Directorate of Language & Library and the Government Divisional Public Library, Kota, in collaboration with Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Nigeria, and the Library Professionals’ Foundation (LPF), New Delhi, India, will jointly host the State-Level Seminar on Public Libraries and Librarians (SLS-PLLSCD 2026).

The seminar, themed “Public Libraries and Librarians: Making a Difference to Society in Social and Cultural Development,” is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, at the Dr. S. R. Ranganathan Convention Hall, Government Divisional Public Library, Kota, Rajasthan, India, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in celebration of National Librarians’ Day.
The one-day seminar will bring together academicians, librarians, researchers, policymakers, students, and information professionals from India and abroad to discuss the evolving role of public libraries in advancing education, research, digital transformation, social inclusion, and sustainable community development.

The programme will feature keynote addresses by renowned experts, invited lectures, research paper presentations, live technology demonstrations, an exhibition and networking session, Library Awards 2026, and discussions on Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital libraries, library automation, inclusive library services, and publication opportunities.

The international collaboration between the Government of Rajasthan, MAAUN, FUDMA, and the Library Professionals’ Foundation (LPF) underscores a shared commitment to strengthening library systems, promoting knowledge exchange, fostering academic partnerships, and enhancing innovation in library and information science across borders.

Faculty members, researchers, librarians, students, and other stakeholders are warmly invited to participate in this prestigious seminar and contribute to meaningful discussions aimed at empowering libraries, strengthening professional capacity, and transforming communities through knowledge and innovation.
