International Conference on Nomadic and Alternative Education Approaches in Africa

Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), in collaboration with Capital University (Somalia), the Catholic University of East Africa (Kenya), and the University of Namibia, invites researchers, educators, policymakers, and development practitioners to participate in the International Conference on Nomadic and Alternative Education Approaches in Africa.

Scheduled to take place from November 3–6, 2026, the conference will adopt a hybrid format, allowing both physical and virtual participation across multiple locations including Kano (Nigeria), Mogadishu (Somalia), Nairobi (Kenya), and Windhoek (Namibia).

The theme of the conference is:
“Strengthening Inclusive and Flexible Education Pathways for Nomadic Pastoralists and Marginalized Learners in Africa.”

The conference aims to promote policy dialogue, research collaboration, and knowledge exchange on innovative education models that expand access to quality learning for hard-to-reach and underserved communities across the continent.

Participants are invited to submit abstracts aligned with key sub-themes, including policy frameworks, innovative delivery models, financing, teacher development, technology-enabled learning, and inclusive education systems.

Key Dates:

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: August 7, 2026
  • Feedback on Abstracts: August 14, 2026
  • Final Proposal Submission: September 4, 2026
