Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano, will proudly host the Summit of the Future Step Down Workshop – Kano State on 14th August 2025 at the Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Twin Lecture Theatre.

The workshop, organized in collaboration with the United Nations Pact for the Future Step Down Consortium, bringing together government leaders, traditional rulers, youth networks, academia, civil society, and development partners to localize and drive the implementation of the United Nations Pact for the Future in Africa.

Distinguished guests included:

• His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf – Executive Governor of Kano State
• His Excellency Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo – Deputy Governor of Kano State
• Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso – Commissioner for Youth and Sports
• HRH Muhammadu Sanusi Lamido – Emir of Kano

The event will feature technical sessions, panel discussions, and case studies on localizing global goals, with a strong emphasis on youth empowerment, sustainable development, innovation, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.

This initiative reaffirms MAAUN’s commitment to advancing education, innovation, and global partnerships that create meaningful change at both local and continental levels.
