As part of the activities commemorating Customer Service Week 2025, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has awarded Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria the Distinguished Award in recognition of the institution’s commitment to excellence and community partnership.

The award was officially presented on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the FIRS to the founder of MAAUN, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo.

The event, held as part of the FIRS nationwide Customer Service Week celebrations, aimed to honor institutions and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to service and community development.

During the ceremony, FIRS praised MAAUN for its leadership, professionalism, and role in fostering progress through collaboration.

Representatives from FIRS’s Medium Tax Department in Kano conveyed warm regards and expressed their appreciation for MAAUN’s ongoing support and partnership.

Responding, Prof. Gwarzo thanked the awarding body, viewing it as a validation of MAAUN’s ongoing efforts in education and community service.

He emphasized that such recognition would inspire the university to continue its efforts in fostering excellence and strengthening partnerships for Nigeria’s progress.
