Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) in Kano held an exciting Food Festival on Sunday, featuring an enticing mix of local and international dishes, homemade pastries, music, and dance.
The event, aimed at promoting food culture and fostering socialization among students, took place along Hanifa Abubakar Street within the university campus.
The festival was the second of its kind organized by the university’s Campus Life unit.
Guests were treated to a diverse selection of dishes where a variety of foods were prepared and sold to invited guests while beverages were carefully chosen to pair well with the different dishes offered.
The grand event drew an impressive crowd of over one thousand participants, including MAAUN Founder, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, who actively engaged in purchasing various offerings available for sale.
Other dignitaries included MAAUN President, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, Vice President Dr. Habib Awais, Dean School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof Ibrahim Maigari, and many other dignitaries, parents and relatives of the students.
MAAUN food festival is an innovation by the university to encourage student-centered learning, where the students would learn to cook their favorite culinary and enjoy a range of entertaining activities in a relaxed environment.
More than 40 stalls were occupied by vendors, each one featuring a range of dishes from related culinary background, effectively showcasing their offerings and interacting with guests.
During the festival, various musicians performed to entertain the participants, creating a relaxed and serene atmosphere filled with love, care, and enjoyment.
