The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kano State Command, on Monday,19th 2023, pledged to deploy its personnel to the Kwanar Maggi Junction along Maiduguri Road to regulate traffic movement so as to ensure safety of motorists and pedestrians.
The Sector commandant, Ibrahim Sallau Abdullahi, made the promise during a courtesy visit to Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), located at Nassarawa GRA, Kano state.
According to him, the measure was necessary in order to regulate the recurring traffic congestion experienced at the junction, which prevents easy passage to Maryam Abacha American University.
Mr. Sallau, who lauded the Founder and Chairman Governing Council of MAAUN, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, for his track record in rendering humanitarian services, also described him as a model that needs to be emulated by all.
In his remarks, Prof. Gwarzo, who doubles as the President of Association of African Private Universities, expressed gratitude for the visit.
Prof. Gwarzo promised to facilitate the process of securing an ambulance for the command to enhance the speedy conveyance of accident victims to the hospitals.
Those present during the visit were President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, Director, Linkages and Collaboration, Dr. Bala Muhammad Tukur and O/C Roster Kano Sector Command, Rabiu Saleh Tarauni, who accompanied the Sector Commandant.
