A joint delegation from Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria-African Institute for Solutions and Development, and Franco British International University, Kaduna, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Kaduna State University (KASU).
President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr and his team were received by the Vice Chancellor of KASU, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, alongside the Director of Academic Planning, Prof. A. F. Abdulrashid, and the University Librarian, Dr. B. U. Dangani.
Speaking during the visit, Prof. Israr stated that MAAUN was established in 2022 and currently runs 22 programmes across seven schools.
He added that the University is ranked the second-best private university in Nigeria by the AD Scientific Index, which reflects the university’s commitment to academic excellence and research.
In his remarks, Prof. Abdullahi Sabo Muhammad noted that FBIU, a member of the MAAUN Group of Universities, commenced operations in February 2025 with 17 programmes across four schools.
He said the university was established to deliver globally competitive education and support human capital development in Kaduna State and beyond.
Also speaking, the Executive Director of AISD, Dr. Salisu Mohammed, explained that the Institute serves as the development arm of the MAAUN Group of universities designed to address the multifaceted challenges facing the communities.
He said AISD is duly registered and operates in line with international best practices, focusing on areas including education, healthcare, humanitarian response, youth empowerment, and governance reform.
On his part, Prof. A.F. Abdulrashid , gave a brief on KASU noting the university was established in 2004 with a focus on applied sciences and community-based research.
He added that the University currently operates about 23 centres dedicated to providing practical solutions to societal challenges.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of KASU, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, described the visit as timely considering the development mandate of AISD.
He appreciated the delegation for identifying KASU as a key stakeholder and a partner in research and innovation.
Prof. Musa assured the team of the university’s readiness to collaborate with the MAAUN–AISD and FBIU for their mutual benefits.
In their separate remarks, Malam. Ahmed N. Mohammed, Alhaji Mukhtari Shitu, and Hajiya Nafisa Ado, of AISD office Kaduna, emphasized the importance of collaboration in research and community development.
They stressed the need for partnerships to address the current socio-economic challenges affecting the local communities.
