MAAUN Commiserates with Head of its International Office over Mother’s Death

Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has commiserated with the Head of its International Office, Engr. Bashir Garba Dandago over the death of his mother, Hajia Khadija Garba Dandago.

Aged 90, Hajiya Khadija died on Sunday night at her family residence following a brief illness.

In a condolence message on Tuesday, the President of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, expressed deep shock over the passing of the deceased.

“Inna lilahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun.
“It is with heavy heart and deep shock but with total submission to the will of Allah that we receive the news of the passing of our beloved mother, Hajia Khadija. May Allah forgive all her shortcomings and admit her in Jannatul Firdaus”.

“May He also comforts the entire family during this grieving and difficult period,”

Prof. Gwarzo described the death of Hajia Khadija as a monumental loss not only to her immediate family, but to her relatives, and the university community at large.

Prof. Gwarzo who commiserated with the bereaved staff, prayed to Allah to comfort the deceased’s family and give them the strength to bear the huge loss.

“On behalf of the management, staff and students of MAAUN Group, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Engr. Bashir Garba and the entire family of the deceased, ” Prof. Gwarzo said.

The deceased, who left behind seven children and many grandchildren, had since been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites in Kano.

Other children of the deceased included Retired Justice Mukhtar Garba Dandago, Dr. Ismail Garba Dandago, Dr. Abubakar Garba Dandago and Ado Garba Dandago, among others.
