Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has extended heartfelt condolences to Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, the Vice President Administration of the University over the passing of his father, Alhaji Awais Abubakar.
Late Alhaji Awais Abubakar died on Monday at a hospital in Kano following a protracted illness.
The condolence message was contained in a statement signed by the President of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo on Monday.
“Inna lilahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun.
“It is with great sadness and deep shock that we receive the news of the passing of our beloved father. Alhaji Awais Abubakar. May Allah forgive his sins, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and comfort the family during this difficult time”.
Prof. Gwarzo described the death of the elder statesman as a great loss not only to his immediate family, friends and associates but to the entire university community.
He also extended his deepest condolences to the family and c of the deceased, praying to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings.
“On behalf of the Management of MAAUN Group, staff and students of the Universities, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar over this great loss,” Prof. Gwarzo said.
While praying to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannah Firdaus, Prof. Gwarzo prayed that God would give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Late Alhaji Awais Abubakar had since been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites after the funeral prayer at Masallacin Musa Bauchi, Gandun Albasa, Bala Borodo Street in Kano metropolis.
