In a bid to promote academic publishing and research, two faculty members of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Kano, have donated authored books to the university’s library.
Dr. Bello Adamu Danbatta, a lecturer in the Department of Business Administration, donated a number of copies of the two books he authored: “Introduction to Management” and “Practice and Theories of Management”.
Similarly, Dr. Salim Hamza Ringim, Chair of the Economics Department, donated the copies of the book he co-authored titled “Reading Economics II”.
The recipients of the donations were the Acting President, Prof Ahmed Maigari Ibrahim, VP Admin, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, the Dean of the School of Management Sciences, Dr. Mahmoud Muktar Said, and the University Librarian, Mal Zubairu Bello, who received the books on behalf of the institution.
The university lauded the initiative, describing it as a commendable step toward enriching its academic resources and fostering a culture of scholarship among faculty members and students.
The officials use the occasion to announce the official take off of the university’s Research Incentive Program, which provides financial and technical support to staff members to encourage local authorship.
The program aims to enhance the university’s academic output and support the development of learning materials relevant to the Nigerian and African context.
