MAAUN Holds Insightful Session on Data Presentation, Sampling, Analysis

Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) on Tuesday hosted a virtual expert session on data types, sampling, data presentation, interpretation, and analysis as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen research capacity and uphold high academic standards.

The session was facilitated by Prof. (Dr.) Anshul Gangele, a distinguished lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Amity University Madhya Pradesh, India.

Prof. Gangele, who also serves as an adjunct faculty member at MAAUN, shared insights on the fundamentals of research methodology, which he outlined under five key components.

These include data types, sampling methods, data presentation, data interpretation, and data analysis.

In the course of the session, he delivered detailed explanations on primary and secondary data, highlighting the characteristics, sources, and methods of collecting primary data in research.

He also provided an overview of various sampling techniques, including random (chance) sampling, stratified sampling, systematic sampling, cluster sampling, quota sampling, and snowball sampling, among others.

To enhance understanding, Prof. Gangele illustrated his presentations with statistical tools such as charts, graphs, and bar charts.

The session was attended by the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr; Vice President (Administration), Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar; Executive Director of the Africa Institute of Solutions and Development (AISD), Dr. Salisu Mohammed; Head of the International Office, Engr.
