MAAUN Hosts Yobe State University’s on Study Tour

A delegation from the College of Medical Sciences at Yobe State University on Wednesday paid a study visit to Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN).

The team, led by the College Provost, Prof. Garba M. Ashir, was warmly received by the President of MAAUN, Prof. Mohammad Israr, alongside members of the university’s management.

During the visit, the delegation explored MAAUN’s academic and administrative operations, exchanging ideas and best practices in higher education.

The tour was aimed at strengthening collaboration, encouraging innovation, and promoting excellence in teaching and research.

Speaking during the visit, Prof. Garba said the purpose of the tour was to study how medical sciences programs are run at MAAUN, with the goal of improving their own systems back at the college.

He expressed appreciation for the warm reception and described the visit as a valuable opportunity that would support the growth and development of both institutions.

In his remarks, Prof. Israr provided an overview of the university, noting that MAAUN currently offers 22 academic programs, all accredited by the National Universities Commission.

He also reaffirmed the university’s willingness to establish partnerships aimed at enhancing academic standards and research output.

Also speaking, the Vice President (Administration), Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, emphasized that MAAUN remains open to strategic collaborations with other institutions, particularly in areas of mutual benefit.

Other members of MAAUN management present included the Provost, School of Medicine, Prof. Rayyan Garba; Executive Director, Africa Institute for Solutions and Development, Dr. Salisu Mohammed; and Dean, School of Nursing Sciences, Dr. Umar Lawan, among others.
