The Law Clinic at Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria held a significant event which marked the Call to Bar, the Swearing-In of Judges, and the inauguration of the Law Clinic’s Executive Council.

The event which was held at the Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Twin Lecture Theatre, was attended by students of the Law School, Faculty and invited guests from within and outside the state.

In his welcome address, the Dean School of Law, Mr Umar Isah Sulaiman expressed hope that the law clinic would give the students the opportunity to gain practical experience with actual cases and clients.

He charged the students to make the best use of the opportunity to enable them build a good career through the practical experiences they would gunner.

During the event, dignitaries across different sectors, including the Vice President Admin, Dr Habib Awais Abubakar, shared goodwill messages, echoing the importance of the occasion.

The ceremony featured the official admission of new student-clinicians into the law society through a robe presentation, symbolizing their official entry into the legal profession.

Notable activities during the ceremony included presentation of appointment letters to judges, as well as swearing-in oath administered by the Dean.

Certificates were awarded to new clinicians by the President of MAAUN while acknowledging their accomplishments.

Earlier in his remarks, the President of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr
said the event marks a significant milestone in the lives of these young lawyers, who have worked tirelessly to achieve the feat.

He charged them to always exhibit a high sense of responsibility as they joined a noble profession that demands integrity, dedication, and a commitment to justice.

Other highlights of the event included the presentation of an award to the Grand Patron, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, who’s the President MAAUN Group of Universities.
