MAAUN Organises Expert Session on Research Methodology and Emerging Trends in Social Science

Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) on Wednesday organised an Expert Session on Research Methodology and Emerging Trends in Social Sciences: Rethinking Approaches in Transforming World” as part of continued effort to enhance academic standards in the university.

The event, conducted virtually at the Presidential Conference Hall of the university, was aimed at enhancing research and innovation.

The session was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Gül Erkol Bayram, a distinguished academic and Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and the Coordinator of the International Relations Office at Sinop University, Türkiye.

Prof. Bayram, who is an adjunct faculty member at MAAUN, shared expertise on the evolution of social science research and foundation of research methodology.

During the session, Prof. Bayram elaborated on the characteristics of good research, research design process, functions of research design and components of research design.

Prof. Bayram further elaborated on the
types of research and emerging trends in social sciences, as well as the steps involved in the process of research.

In his remarks, the Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, expressed profound appreciation to Prof. Bayram for the outstanding and insightful presentation, highlighting the importance of scientific research.

“No university or institution will survive without research and innovation hence the reason why MAAUN gives opportunity to experts to present their research,” Dr. Habib said.

In his closing remarks, the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr commended Prof. Bayram for the wonderful presentation.

He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to continue to providing the enabling environment for the promotion of scientific research and innovation in the institution for academic excellence.
