Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria has partnered with Anatomia Healthcare and Educational Resources Limited to create the Biomedical Research, Artificial Intelligence, and Innovation Network (BRAIN) Project.

The collaboration will give students the chance to work on exciting biomedical research and new AI-based healthcare solutions.

As part of the agreement, the BRAIN Project will be set up at MAAUN, making the university a key center for healthcare and technology advancements in Northern Nigeria.

With the launch of the center, students will gain hands-on experience in a rapidly evolving field, opening doors to significant learning and career development.

The MoU also aimed to foster a unique environment where students, researchers, and healthcare professionals can work together to make valuable contributions to the medical field.

In his opening remarks, Professor (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, President of MAAUN, emphasized the project’s importance in providing students with practical knowledge and exposure to the latest developments in both AI and healthcare.

Prof. Israr, who spoke at length on the various areas of the MoU, noted that the BRAIN Project perfectly aligns with MAAUN’s long-term mission.

The Founder and Executive Director of Anatomia Healthcare, Dr. Maryam Nasir Aliyu, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership and its immense potential to benefit students.

Dr. Maryam discussed some of Anatomia’s leading innovations, including a biomedical AI model that can predict breast cancer risk using fingerprint analysis.

Others include an advanced Learning Management System (LMS) that incorporates AI to monitor student progress and provide a personalized learning experience, aimed at improving medical education.

She stressed the role of AI in transforming medical practices and emphasized Anatomia’s commitment to developing tools and resources that students can directly engage with.

Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, MAAUN’s Vice President, highlighted the opportunities which the BRAIN Project will offer to students.

He pointed out that the partnership not only promotes the integration of healthcare and AI but also places MAAUN students at the leading edge of these innovations.

Dr. Awais stressed that the collaboration between MAAUN and Anatomia will lead to lasting improvements in healthcare delivery, benefiting both local and global communities.

The MoU signing was witnessed by other parties from both MAAUN and Anatomia Limited.
