The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), has set up a Digital Economy Training Centre at the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano.
The Centre, located at the School of Computing, has already been equipped with the necessary facilities for the training of students of the University.
The facilities that have been put in place at the Centre include computer sets and their accessories, solar power, Generator, standing fans, printer, and Internet facilities.
Speaking after the installation of the facilities, the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr commended the agency for the gesture.
He charged the students to make the best use of the centre in order to acquire the needed digital skills training for the socio-economic development of the country.
Also speaking, the Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar also lauded the agency for setting up the centre which he said would go along way in promoting Information and Technology (IT) driven economy in the country.
He, however, called on the staff to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities so as safeguard them from damage.
Other principal officers that accompanied the President during the inspection include Director Founder’s office, Dr. Aliyu Mirnga, and Hajia Maimuna Saidu Bello, Senior Admin Officer.
