NYSC Commends MAAUN, Labels Institution Corps-Member Friendly

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has commended Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, describing the institution as corps-member friendly and highly committed to preparing its students for national service.

The commendation was made during the NYSC Orientation and Sensitization Lecture organized for final-year students and prospective corps members at the university’s twin theater on Wednesday.

In his presentation, the Deputy Director, Mobilization, Mr Abdullahi Muhammed Illo, enlightened students on the NYSC mobilization process, eligibility requirements, documentation, and the importance of proper registration.

He advised students to ensure that their academic records are accurate and complete to avoid challenges during mobilization.

Also speaking, Mr. Fatogun Olatunji Jimmy, Assistant Director, Deployment and Relocation, spoke extensively on deployment procedures, relocation policies, and the responsibilities expected of corps members during their service year.

He tasked students on discipline, patriotism, and adherence to NYSC regulations.

Earlier, the Vice President Administration of MAAUN, Dr. Habib Awais, welcomed the NYSC officials and expressed appreciation for their continuous guidance and support to the institution and its students.

As part of the visit, the NYSC delegation was conducted round key facilities within the university, including the Founder’s Office and the University Library, where they expressed satisfaction with the institution’s readiness to promote educational development.

The event was graced by key university officials, including the Vice President, Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba, Head of HR Unit, Haj Maimuna Bello, Deans of schools and Heads of departments.
