Prof. Adamu Gwarzo Mourns the Passing of Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata

The President and founder of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of elder statesman, business icon, and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.

Professor Gwarzo described the death of the Alhaji Ɗantata as a painful and irreplaceable loss not only to Kano State but to Nigeria as a whole, citing his lifetime of service, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the nation’s progress.

He recalled with pride that in 2023, the MAAUN Kano School of Health Sciences was named after the late Alhaji Dantata in honour of his outstanding contributions to education and healthcare development and Nation Building across the country.

“Alhaji Dantata was not just a symbol of entrepreneurial excellence, he was also a beacon of hope for many, a silent yet impactful force in Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape. His legacy of philanthropy, especially in the fields of education and public health, will endure for generations,” Prof. Gwarzo said.

He noted that Dantata’s humble lifestyle, deep wisdom, and commitment to national unity earned him the respect of people across all walks of life.

On behalf of the entire MAAUN community, Prof. Gwarzo extended his heartfelt condolences to the Dantata family, the Government, his family and all Nigerians for this loss.

“Alhaji Aminu Dantata lived a life of purpose and left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire. May Allah (SWT) grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and comfort those he left behind,” he prayed.
