In a step towards promoting inter-institutional collaboration and academic excellence, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, President MAAUN Group of Universities, on Sunday received a delegation from the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology, Kano on a courtesy visit to the university.
In his remarks, the Deputy Provost of the College, Dr. Bashir Barau who led the delegation, expressed sincere gratitude to Prof. Gwarzo for the warm reception accorded the team.
He praised Prof. Gwarzo’s outstanding contributions to the educational sector in Kano, Nigeria, and Africa at large.
“Prof. Gwarzo is a rare personality whose passion, untiring philanthropy, and humanitarian support for the less privileged, especially in education are deeply inspiring. May Almighty God continue to guide, protect, and uplift you,” he stated.
Dr. Barau further proposed a formal partnership between their institution and MAAUN Nigeria, highlighting the importance of collaboration in academic exchange, training, scholarships, and capacity building for staff and students.
In his remarks, Prof. Gwarzo welcomed the delegation with appreciation and acknowledged the importance of the visit.
“We must all recognize that partnership and collaboration are vital for building the future of education, agriculture, and innovation in Nigeria. Together, we can foster sustainable development that benefits our nation and the continent,” he said.
He assured the delegation of his commitment to formalizing the partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MAAUN, African Institute for Solutions and Development (AISD) particularly in the areas of agricultural education and research where it is taught in MAAUN Niger.
Prof. Gwarzo also promised to personally visit the College with a view to strengthening the relationship and exploring areas of mutual benefit.
“I will continue to do my best. I will continue to invest in higher education, empower youths and contribute to building Nigeria and Africa through knowledge and innovation,” he concluded.
The visit concluded with optimism and a renewed commitment from both institutions to work collaboratively in promoting quality education and national development.
