Students of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), on Thursday evening, held cultural displays of some selected ethnic groups in Nigeria as part of the activities marking the third Students Week Program.

The cultural display, which was held at the university’s sports complex, was part of the week-long program organized by the university.

Among the cultural displays presented by the students include cultural dances and other lifestyles of Indians, Hausas, Yorubas, Igbos, Kanuris, Fulanis, and Shuwa Arabs.

Other cultural displays include Nigerien, Pakistani, Sudanese, Saudi Arabia, Lebanese, Palestinian, Bangladesh, and Turkish.

The students had also presented poetry during the occasion.

The display, which excited spectators, was designed to foster unity among students as well as showcase the rich cultural heritage of various ethnic groups in Nigeria and other countries.

The cultural displays were witnessed by many people from within and outside the university as well as management staff of the university, including the President/ founder of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo.

Also present at the occasion were the President of the university, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar and Director Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Nura A. Yaro.

Others were the Director, Institute of Africa Higher Education Research and Innovation (IAHERI) Prof. Abubakar Sadiq, Vice President Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba, Dean School of Post Graduate Studies, Prof. Ahmed Maigari Ibrahim, as well as a number of faculty members.
