Students Week: MAAUN Students thrill audience with Old School Show, Educational presentations

Students of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), on Thursday, 13th July 2023, thrilled audience with their Old School Show, educational and poetry presentations at the Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Twin-lecture Theatre.

The Old School Show and the two presentations were part of the second Students Week Program organized by the Campus Life Directorate of the University.

The topics chosen by the students during the educational presentation include the ills of Drug Abuse, Child Abuse, Human Trafficking, Forced Marriage, Rape, The Effects of Illiteracy, Mental Insecurity and Depression among others.

The presentations were designed to help students to create innovative ideas and improve their communication skills especially in public as well as to develop students’ confidence.

However, the poetry presentation allows students to express concepts or ideas in unique and resonant ways that sometimes survive and continue to inspire readers for many years to come.

The show, tagged, Old School Show was presented by the students in memory of our forefathers, while entertaining the teeming audience with their amusing and exciting performances.

Among the management staff of the University that were present during the presentations were the Founder of the University, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, President of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr and the Vice Chancellor of Franco-British International University, Kaduna, Prof. Muhammad Abdullahi Sabo.

Others were Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, Director Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Nura A. Yaro, Vice President Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba and Secretary General, Association of Africa Private Universities (AAPU), Prof. Abubakar Sadiq Haruna, among others.
