The Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to Nigeria, Mohsen Antit, on Monday flagged off the Third Students Week Program of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, (MAAUN).
The week-long program began with football matches between students of the School of Health Sciences and School of Medicine and School of Computing while the second match was played between students of Schools of Social and Management Sciences and School of Environmental Sciences and School of Nursing and School of Law.
The opening match was kicked off by Ambassador Mohsen Antit who was accompanied to the football field by the founder of the university, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo.
The program was designed to provide a wide range of recreational experiences and opportunities for students for the development of their physical and mental health as well as entertaining faculty members and other staff of the university.
Among the management staff members present during the matches were President of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, Vice President Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba, among others..
The activities lined up in the week-long program are Inter School Debate, Cooking Competition, Bilingual Drama, Poetry Presentation, Educational as well as Cultural Display.
Others are Old School Show, Fashion Show, Human Figure, Speech of Renowned Icon, Colour Festival and other games such as Sack Race, Egg on Spoon, among others.
