Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, on Monday, received a delegation from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on a monitoring visit to assess classroom activities and facilities at the institution.

The visit was part of UNICEF’s continuous engagement with educational institutions aimed at promoting quality education and effective service delivery.

The delegation was led by Malam Muntakar Muhammad, UNICEF Communication Specialist, and Mrs. Toyin Ugbobor, Implementing Partnership Management (IPM) Officer.

The officials were warmly received by the university management, including the VP Admin, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, the Dean of the School of Management Sciences, Dr. Mahmoud Muktar Said, and the Head of the Department of Business Administration, Dr. Zahra Adam, who conducted them round the campus.

During the tour, the officials inspected lecture halls, the library, MAAUN Innovation Hub, and other key facilities.

In his remarks, Dr Awais, stated that MAAUN places top priority on quality education for all, in line with UNICEF’s educational agenda.

He added that with innovative programs, modern facilities, and dedicated faculty, the university equips students with skills and critical thinking to address global challenges.

Responding, the team expressed satisfaction with the standard put in place, the learning environment, and the quality of teaching and learning at the university.

In their separate remarks, the UNICEF delegation commended the founder of MAAUN for his visionary leadership and dedication to providing world-class education in Nigeria and beyond.

The team also hailed the university’s academic culture and facilities as exemplary, describing MAAUN as one of the leading universities in Africa.
