The founder and President of MAAUN Group of Universities Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo has stressed the need for universities to collaborate with their counterparts across the globe to promote internationalization.
Prof. Gwarzo made the remark when he visited Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) on Friday, He said there was a need for KHAIRUN to establish collaboration with a view to exposing the university to other universities across the globe.
“KHAIRUN needs to liaise with some international to see what is obtainable there with a view to tapping there for the development of the university.
“It’s very important to internationalize because it is the future of any university and that is why we in MAAUN don’t joke with research and internationalization,” he said.
While expressing his readiness to partner with KHAIRUN and connect the University with some international universities across the globe, Prof. Gwarzo said his visit was aimed at extending hands of friendship, collaboration, support and offering advice to the management.
He also urged the KHAIRUN staff to make sure they work in unity and give the Vice-Chancellor their maximum support for the success of the university.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, on behalf of the management staff, extended heartfelt appreciation to Prof. Gwarzo and his entourage for the visit.
Among the management staff of MAAUN that accompanied Prof. Gwarzo during the visit include, Vice Chancellor of Franco British International University (FBIU), Kaduna, Prof. Abdullahi Mohammed Sabo and Vice President of MAAUN, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar.
Others were Director Academic Planning and Quality Assurance of MAAUN, Dr. Nura A. Yaro, Vice President Campus Live, Dr. Hamza Garba and the Dean, School of Nursing Sciences Dr. Umar Lawal Bello.
