Benue Gov Lauds Prof. Gwarzo for His Commitment To Education

The Benue State Governor, Rev. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has commended the Founder and President MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo for his zeal and passion towards the development of education in Nigeria and Africa.

The governor made the remarks on Sunday, 11th February, 2024 during a courtesy visit to Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria where he met with the Tiv community residing in Kano.

The governor who lauded Prof. Gwarzo, for the feat recorded in the field of education, also described the young Professor as a revolutionary whose contributions would live for generations.

“Prof. Gwarzo is a very serious Nigerian. One who loves education so much. One who has his heart and mind for the common man. He’s someone who believes that when God blesses you, you must bless others,” he said.

The Governor further appreciated the immense efforts and contribution of Prof. Gwarzo in meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the people by providing quality education.

He said it is on record that this young professor single handedly established four universities cutting across Nigeria and Republic of Niger respectively.

He expressed joy that Prof. Gwarzo employed quite a number of Benue indigenes in MAAUN Niger and Nigeria.

“I am very happy to hear him making me proud and also to get the testimony directly from my brothers and sisters from Benue State who are privileged to have worked with him or working for his university.

“He is a friend of Benue. He is very trusted friend, and someone who cares so much for the growth and development of Benue”.

In his remark, Prof. Gwarzo expressed hope that Benue State would experience peace and prosperity. “Benue State is transforming. It is poised to emerge as a leader in the near future. Poverty in Benue will soon be a thing of the past. We anticipate the rise of young billionaires in Benue in the near future.”

He said the people of Benue are lucky to have a gentleman as their governor noting that today if you go to Benue it is not the former Benue.

Prof. Gwarzo described the people of Benue as trusted allies whom he loves working with. “Benue people are very good people. I worked with a lot of your indigenes and I enjoy working with them. They are very honest and humble”.

He said his doors would remain open for Benue people adding that anything you want my door is open for you.

The governor was later taken round some places in the university where he had the opportunity to explore its facilities and interact with faculty, staff, and students.
