Students of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano, on Friday, 9th September 2022, staged an English drama at the Ibrahim Usman Yakasai Sports Complex as part of activities lined up for the Students Week Program organized by the university.
The Drama and Indian National Anthem was presented by some selected students during the occasion witnessed by students and staff of the university.
Similarly, a biography of the President of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr was also presented by a student during the occasion.
A female student, Miss Jidda Mohammed Sulaiman who commended Prof. Gwarzo for his contribution towards the development of education, was given N1 million by the Founder and chairman Governing council of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo.
Other activities that were also conducted at the occasion include presentation of speech in Indian language and the Indian National flag display by the students.
In his remarks at the occasion, the Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar urged the students to imbibe the habit of writing poetry to develop their writing skills in order to become proficient.
He said the university would continue to organize similar programs with a view to encouraging students to participate for the improvement of their knowledge and writing skills.
Among those who witnessed the event include Prof. Gwarzo, Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar and Director Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Nura A. Yaro.
Also in attendance were, the Director Institute of Africa Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Haruna, Vice President Finance, Mr. Dauda Abdulrazaq Kayode, Vice President Campus Life, Dr. Musa Lawal Jibia and Vice President MAAUN Niger, Dr. Shu\’aibu Usman Tanko, among others principal officers of the university.
