Prof Abubakar Gwarzo congratulates Nigerians on Independent anniversary

The Founder and Chairman Governing Council of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), has congratulated all Nigerians on the country’s 62nd Independence anniversary.

Nigeria got its independence on 1st October 1960 after the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorates.

The congratulatory message was contained in a statement signed by the President and Founder of MAAUN, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo and issued to newsmen in Kano on Saturday.

Prof. Gwarzo, who is also the Founder and President of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger also congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on the country\’s Independence Day.

\”As Nigeria marks its Independence anniversary today, I wish to on behalf of the Management of the University felicitate with all Nigerians on this auspicious and great occasion,\” Prof. Gwarzo said.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to guide the leaders of the country as well as give them the strength and wisdom
to steer the country to greater heights.

Prof. Gwarzo, who is also the President of Association of African Private Universities (AAPU), charged Nigerians especially the youth, to shun drug abuse and engage in any meaningful venture to enable them become useful members of the society so as to contribute towards the development of the country.

The Founder prayed for continuous peace and unity as well as economic growth and development in the country.
