The Africa Institute for Solutions and Development (AISD), Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, has undertaken a facility visit to L & Z Integrated Farms Nigeria Ltd to explore potential areas of partnership.
The AISD delegation was received by the company’s management team, headed by the Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Adelaja Ayo and the Chief Project Officer, Peter Atepowaye.
The visit featured a guided tour of the firm’s key operational units, including the production room, livestock sections housing different breeds of cows, and milk collection centres.
The team also toured feed storage facilities, processing areas, and administrative units, providing a comprehensive view of the company’s integrated operations.
Speaking during the engagement, the management of L & Z outlined the company’s operations, partnerships, supply chain structure, and development model.
They expressed confidence that a partnership with AISD would be productive, citing the institute’s credibility and experience.
Members of the AISD delegation described L & Z as a “silent achiever,” noting that its development models have strong potential for replication.
The team noted that with proper refinement and replication across different communities, the models could attract more grants and deliver greater social impact.
They expressed optimism that such collaboration could contribute to addressing key social challenges, including early marriage and the growing number of out-of-school children.
Key areas of collaboration identified by both parties include corporate engagement, community-based interventions, and advocacy programmes.
The AISD delegation comprised Prof. Mohammad Israr of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Dr. Audu Liman, Executive Chairman of AISD, and Dr. Salisu Muhammad, Executive Director of the institute.
Others include Ahmed Mohammed, S. Associate AISD; Muktari Shitu, Hayatuddeen M Abdallah, Musa Gambo, and Basirat Iyewo
