MAAUN Appoints Prof. Maigari as Chairman School of Postgraduate Studies Board

The Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, has approved the appointment of Prof. Ahmed Maigari Ibrahim as Chairman, School of Postgraduate Studies Board.

Prof. Maigari Ibrahim is also the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies in the University.

Inaugurating the board members on Friday, the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr said the Board comprises 18 other members including
Prof. Ibrahim A. Lawal, Dean, School of Computing, Prof. Abubakar Ahmed, Dean, School of Environmental Sciences and Dr. Kabir Mustapha, Dean, School of Health Sciences.

Also in the list are Barrister Umar Suleiman, Ag. Dean, School of Law, Prof. Rayyan M. Garba, Dean, School of Medicine, Dr. Umar Lawal Bello, Dean, School of Nursing Sciences, Dr. Mahmoud Muktar Saidu, Dean, School of Management, Dr. Abdulaziz Ibrahim, Dean, School of Social Sciences and Dr. Nura A. Yaro, Director, Academic Planning and Quality Assurance.

Others are, Dr. Lawan Malami Goni, University Examination Officer, Dr. Abdullahi Garba Abdullahi, Coordinator, General Education Unit, Dr. Aliyu Abubakar Mirnga, Director, Founder’s Office, Prof. Abubakar Sadiq Haruna, Director, Institute of Africa Higher Education Research and Innovation (IAHERI).

The rest are Dr. Salisu Mohammed Lawal, Executive Director, AISD, Dr. Hamza Garba, University Admission Officer, Prof. Amina Salihi Bayero, Senate Representative, Prof. Muhammad Yalwa Gwarzo, Senate Representative and Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, Vice President Administration who will serve as the Secretary of the board.

In his remark, Prof. Israr charged the board members to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the university.

In his acceptance speech, Prof. Maigatari pledged the commitment of the board members to discharge their duties with utmost fear of God and in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations of the institution.

He charged other members of the board to consider their appointment as a trust pointing out that the university is proud to have such calibre of people as members of the board.

Prof. Maigari who expressed appreciation to the Founder, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo and the University management for the confidence they have in them, called on the board members to exhibit high sense of responsibility so as to achieve the desired objective.
