The Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger and Nigeria (MAAUN), has congratulated Prof. Ahmed Maigari Ibrahim on his appointment as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the newly established Northwest University, Sokoto.
The President of MAAUN Niger and Chairman of Governing Council of MAAUN Nigeria, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo sent the congratulatory message to the pioneer VC in a letter he personally signed and issued to journalists in Kano on Monday.
Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo who is also the Founder of Franco-British International University, Kaduna and President of the Association of African Private Universities (AAPU), on behalf of the Management of the Universities wished the new Vice Chancellor of the Northwest University a successful tenure.
He also prayed to Almighty God to guide and give him the wisdom to steer the leadership of the institution.
Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo described the new Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ahmed Maigari Ibrahim as a committed, patient, loyal and hardworking lecturer who will bring development and progress to the University in various aspects.
“We pray that as he assumes office, may the Almighty Allah help him to succeed,” the letter said.
The management of MAAUN expressed hope that the appointment of the new Vice Chancellor will add value to the University.
The new Vice Chancellor is a renowned Environmentalist, Scholar and Administrator. The Governing Council of the Northwest University, Sokoto recently approved the appointment of the pioneer Vice Chancellor for the newly established Private University.
Northwest University, Sokoto founded by former Sokoto State Governor, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko (Sarkin Yamman Sokoto), is one of the Private Universities established in Sokoto state.
The University was issued an operational license in May 2022, by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
