Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria set to sign MoU with Morgan State University USA
Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano, has concluded an arrangement for the signing of Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Morgan State University (MSU) in the United States of America.
He noted that the partnership between MAAUN and MSU would go a long way in promoting research and development for the benefit of the institutions.
Speaking at a virtual meeting between officials of the two institutions on Thursday, 15th, December 2022, the Executive Director in charge of Global Partnership for Africa in MSU, Prof. HakeemTijani, who spoke on his profile and history of his university, stressed the importance of the partnership among universities
In his remarks, the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr highlighted the possible areas of the proposed collaboration.
He said MAAUN is interested in the areas of joint publication of research outcomes, Staff and students mobility programs and joint supervision of postgraduates students.
Prof. Israr listed other areas of possible collaboration to include students\’ internship program, sharing knowledge and expertise, economic collaboration as well as sabbatical program, among others
Speaking, the Vice President Administration of MAAUN, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar who also gave a brief on his profile, said the meeting was intended to serve as a concluding part of the dialogue on mutual cooperation between the two partners.
He disclosed that the university is also interested in research development, innovation and scientific discoveries.
He thanked MSU officials for attending the meeting and expressed hope that the MoU when implemented, would be a landmark for the development of both universities.
He gave assurance that as soon as all the necessary processes for the signing of the MoU are completed, the document would be signed in order to make it a reality.
