Some graduates who benefitted from Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo’s postgraduate scholarship program at Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, Maradi (MAAUN Maradi), have donated exercise books to Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation in appreciation of the gesture.
The former students, who were among the over 200 beneficiaries of the scholarship in the nursing program, made the donation when they visited Prof. Gwarzo on Thursday to express their appreciation for his invaluable support.
During the visit, the graduates, now holders of MSc degrees in Nursing, made a significant donation of a beautiful wall clock to Prof. Gwarzo and thousands of exercise books to the Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation (AAGF) for distribution to poor and vulnerable students.
The donation is a testament to the profound impact that Professor Gwarzo’s commitment to education and philanthropy has had on their lives and future careers.
The team lead, Sa’adatu Muhammad Bashir, who spoke on behalf of the group, expressed their gratitude to Prof. Gwarzo for his life-changing intervention.
She emphasized that the scholarship not only enabled them to complete their nursing education but also empowered them to achieve advanced degrees–an accomplishment that is a milestone for them, their families, and the communities they will serve.
In his response, Prof. Gwarzo appreciated their singular gesture and lauded their sense of responsibility and compassion.
He urged them to uphold the values of
humanity and professionalism, emphasizing the need for them to be good ambassadors of MAAUN, their families, and their noble profession.
He further encouraged them to continue to contribute to society and to always remember the importance of lifting others, just as they were once uplifted.
The event reflects Prof. Gwarzo’s enduring legacy of empowering youth through education and his vision of creating a generation of professionals dedicated to service and societal development.
It also highlights the power of philanthropy in transforming lives and fostering a cycle of giving, ensuring that the impact of one good deed extends far beyond its immediate beneficiaries.
As these graduates step into their roles as healthcare professionals, their journey —from scholarship recipients to benefactors—serves as a powerful inspiration for aspiring students and a testament to the profound difference that investing in education can make.
