Prof. Gwarzo Congratulates Nigerian Scholar, Mubarak Mahmud for Breakthrough in Forestry Science

The Founder and Chairman MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo has hailed a Nigerian scholar, Mubarak Mahmud for his recent major breakthrough in Forestry Science.

Mahmud, a PhD graduate from Université Paris-Saclay, has introduced a revolutionary method for measuring tree heights, christened ‘The Mahmud Method’. This innovative technique combines photography and mathematical principles.

In a statement released to newsmen in Kano, Nigeria on Tuesday, Prof. Gwarzo congratulated Mahmud for achieving the feat by revolutionizing forestry science with innovative tree height measurement methods using photography.

He noted that Mahmud deserves to be celebrated for his contributions to forestry science which underscores the importance of international collaboration in driving scientific innovation.

“On behalf of MAAUN Group of Universities, I wish to felicitate with you on this milestone and wish you God’s guidance in all your future endeavors,” Prof. Gwarzo.

Prof. Gwarzo, who doubles as President of Association of African Private Universities (AAPU), reaffirmed MAAUN’s commitment to advancing the cause of scientific research for the development of Nigeria and African continent at large.

It is believed that this milestone not only highlights Nigeria’s emerging role in forestry technology and artificial intelligence but also reinforces the country’s impact on global scientific advancements.

Similarly, Mahmud’s work is expected to transform forestry practices, offering a more efficient and accurate tool for researchers and environmentalists worldwide.

The achievement has since received widespread recognition from key institutions, including Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Education, the Kano State Ministry of Education, and the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil in Kano State, among others.
