Prof. Israr lauds Mahatma Gandhi University, India for organizing G20 Summit

Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has commended Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Meghalaya, for taking the initiative to organize an online International level Conference on G20 Summit with the theme, Shaping a Sustainable and Inclusive Global Future.

President of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr made the recommendation after presenting his keynote address during the virtual conference which was held on 24th and 25th of July 2023.


Prof. Israr who was a Chief guest at the occasion, noted that the conference which focused on bridging the gap and promoting inclusive development, emphasizing social cohesion, gave students, academicians, diplomats, policy makers, and general citizens from across the world an opportunity to participate, discuss and debate global issues.

According to him, the objective was to ensure that no individual or community was left behind thus, creating a more equitable world.

“The focus lies to abstract the recommendations and provide the suggestion for promoting inclusive development and fostering social cohesion.Through addressing inequality and fostering social justice, the conference aims to empower marginalized communities and provide equal opportunities for growth.

“By encouraging initiatives that foster social cohesion, Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya, aims to build inclusive societies where diversity is celebrated and everyone’s voice is heard,” Prof. Israr said.

He added that the conference acts as a platform for bridging divides and creating a more harmonious and prosperous global community where everyone interested in international relations and diplomacy will benefit from attending the conference.

Prof. Israr said the conference also presents a special chance to get involved with contemporary global concerns, learn useful skills, and obtain a greater comprehension of the complexity of global governance.

After the conference, Prof. Israr was presented with a certificate for his contribution to the success of the program and as a Keynote Speaker during the two-day international conference.
