The fifth day of the Students Week Program organized by Campus Life Directorate of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) ended with the presentation of a fashion show and a football match between students of School of Social and Management Sciences and that of School of Health Sciences.
The two schools emerged winners during the first leg of the tournament held on Monday, 10th July, 2023.
The fashion show presented included that of India, China, Sudan, United Arab Emirate (UAE), Saudi Arabia, United States of America (USA), Morocco, Nigeria, Ethiopia, France, Cameroun, England and Pakistan.
The final football match which was part of the week-long program, was played at the Ibrahim Usman Yakasai Sports Complex on Friday evening, 14th July, 2023 and ended 7-1, against students of School of Health Sciences.
After the match, a trophy was presented to the students of School of SMS who emerged as the overall champions while the highest goal scorer, Ahmad Isma’il and best goalkeeper, Rabi’u Sani, were presented with golden boot and golden globes respectively.
Among the management staff that watched the final football match and the Fashion show include the Founder of the University, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr and Vice Chancellor of Franco-British International University, Kaduna, Prof. Abdullahi Muhammad Sabo.
Also in attendance were the Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar and Director Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Nura A. Yaro.
Others were the Vice President of MAAUN-MARADI, Dr. Shu’aibu Usman Tanko, Vice President Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba as well as other members of the University community and invited guests.
