Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sai Info Solution, a Dubai-based organization, as part of efforts to strengthen international collaboration and enhance the university’s global visibility.
The MoU was signed during a virtual ceremony on Thursday by the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, on behalf of the university, and the Director of Sai Info Solution, Mr. Santosh Gore, representing his organization.
Speaking shortly after the signing, Prof. Israr disclosed that MAAUN Kano, which is ranked the second-best private university in Nigeria by the 2025 AD Scientific Index Ranking, currently runs 22 academic programmes across seven schools.
According to him, areas of cooperation outlined in the agreement include student and faculty exchange programmes, visiting scholars initiatives, co-hosting of international conferences, seminars and workshops.
Other areas include joint degree and certificate programmes, collaborative research and publications, as well as internship and placement facilitation.
Prof. Israr expressed optimism that the partnership would establish a strong framework for strategic academic collaboration, enhance research capacity, improve academic quality, and expand the international outreach of both institutions.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of Sai Info Solution, Mr. Santosh Gore, who also serves as an adjunct faculty member of MAAUN, described the firm as a globally recognised higher education consultancy with operations in India, the UAE, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and the United States.
He noted that the organization has a proven track record of supporting over 150 universities worldwide.
Also speaking, the Vice President (Administration) of MAAUN, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, described the signing of the MoU as a welcome development, stating that it would significantly promote research collaboration and academic excellence.
He expressed confidence that both institutions would ensure effective implementation of the agreement for mutual benefit.
The virtual signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Hari Vignesh, Business Head, Liverpool (UK); Dr. Manish Merhotra, Business Head, Abu Dhabi (UAE); Dr. Vinod Shukla, Business Head, Dubai (UAE); and Dr. George Tsaramirsis, Business Head, Europe.
MAAUN officials in attendance included the Head of the International Office, Engr. Bashir Garba, his Assistant, Mrs. Janvi Haresh, and members of the Corporate Communication and Protocol Unit, among others.
