Students Week: MAAUN Students present cultural displays of India, Nigerian ethnic groups

Students of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano, held cultural displays of India and some selected ethnic groups in Nigeria as part of the activities marking the second Students Week Program.

The cultural display which was held on Wednesday evening, 12th July, 2023, at the University’s sports complex, was part of the week-long Program organized by the Campus Life Directorate of the University.

Among the cultural displays presented by the students include cultural dances, Shantu performance and other lifestyles of Indians, Hausas, Yorubas, Igbos, Kanuris, Fulanis and Shuwa Arabs.

The Indian National Anthem was also presented at the occasion in honor of the President of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, who is an Indian by nationality.

The display, which excited spectators, was aimed at promoting unity among students as well as showcasing the rich culture of various ethnic groups in the country.

The cultural displays were witnessed by many people from within and outside the University as well as Management staff of the University including the President, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar and Director Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Nura A. Yaro.

Others were the Secretary General, Association of Africa Private Universities (AAPU), Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Harouna, Vice President Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba, the Vice Chancellor of Franco-British International University, Kaduna, Prof. Muhammad Abdullahi Sabo and Mr. Dauda Abdulrazaq Kayode of the Finance Unit of the University.
